"Cycling saved me. I have been running competitively since I was about ten years old, and was part of both regionally and nationally ranked teams in middle school and high school. Back in 2010, I was sidelined by two hip surgeries and a back injury as a collegiate D1 Cross Country athlete, ending my running career. Never afraid of a challenge, when a good friend encouraged me to try road biking, I bought my first road bike and fell in love. Since then, I’ve never looked back, and dove headfirst into the world of cycling and triathlon.
I moved to Houston in August of 2015 following completion of graduate school in Flagstaff, AZ. In the chaos of this major life change, I signed up for Ironman Galveston 70.3 and my first full IM: Ironman Chattanooga. Ironman training gave me new respect for myself, and allowed me to make many new friends in the cycling community here in Houston. My first Ironman was an incredible experience and journey, and I cannot wait to compete in Ironman Texas this season!
Throughout my life, cycling and triathlon have gotten me through the roughest patches in my life. I love to share this passion and excitement with friends, family, and my community here at Houston! I have an exciting season lined up for 2017 including marathons, ultra runs, cycling time trials, and Ironman events across the Nation. I am looking forwards to working with Bicycle World this season and sharing these exciting experiences!"
